Migrant Women's Programme

The Migrant Women's Project is a programme developed by Robert Emmet CDP and funded by Dormant Account Fund, to support migrant women. The programme is aimed at supporting refugee/asylum seekers to access training and employment support.
We aim to help the women access training and education and promoting integrating. We do that by directly working with individuals and groups to support and guide them through the process so that they could find available opportunities, develop skills and build confidence. We also do referrals to and from other services.
We anticipate that the women will:
  • Have basic rules of communication & understand different communication styles.
  • Describe communication difficulties and the barriers that they encounter.
  • Evaluate strength and areas of improvement; and know how to ask the right questions to get the right answers.
  • Understand the importance of active listening skills and use new skills to build and strengthen relationships.
  • Apply skills to handle difficult situations.
  • Build confidence.

We are currently in the process of assisting our participants develop a social enterprise producing embroidered goods.
