A number of parents have made contact over recent weeks and months of school closures requesting assistance and advice to best academically support their school age children.
Difficulties faced by parents have focused around from literacy and computer skills and while resource teachers in local schools have been fantastic in supporting parents additional, longer term supports also exist.

The National Adult Literacy Service are offering support for reading, writing, spelling and computer literacy online and this support can be set up by calling their Freephone number 1800202065.

Once connected the applicant will be assigned a learning support worker for 30 minute per week for online/phone support with in person support resuming once Covid-19 restrictions end.

Also the brilliant City of Dublin Education and Training Board also run a friendly and easy to use Literacy Service which will resume once Covid-19 restrictions end and can be contacted on 01 454 0759 / 01 668 4871.
