The Wheel's 20th anniversary

It was an honour for Robert Emmet CDP project coordinator Austin Campbell to be invited to attend a reception for The Wheel's 20th anniversary in Áras an Uachtaráin last Friday.

It was a particular privilege to hear President Higgins speaking. His acknowledgement "that a real republic is one in which every person is encouraged and supported to participate fully, and where every person and community is treated with dignity and respect” was very welcome, and, together with a knowledge that President Higgins uses the power of his office to deliver on these beliefs on a daily basis, a real tonic for the spirits.

We are very lucky to have a humble, highly intelligent and socially conscious President representing us on the world stage
